So we’ve just woken up in what I can only describe as hell. This is the room we were dumped in at 2am after an 8 hour bus ride to the border. The bin was full with cigarette butts and the toilet seat still up from the last occupant in purgatory. The beds were vile and clearly not changed, so, thankful for our sleep-sacks we absolutely did not snuggle down but cowered in them away from the putrid smell and brown walls.
Upon a 6am wakeup we discovered the shower wasn’t attached to anything so Ellen used the alternative ‘power shower’ – otherwise known as the bum gun. Opting out of this as I think it would only have made me dirtier I made good use of my baby wipes. We are now sitting on a set of dirty steps (wishing they had a tip jar) waiting for our driver to take us to the ‘restaurant’ for breakfast…who knows what’s in store for us there? It’s safe to say none of us can wait to get out of this godforsaken place!!!
Just another halfway house but this one’s worse than Luton.
N.B. Some exaggeration may have been made but really not that much.
– Mum I hope Hollie had a nice night sleeping by the Aga!!!
Darling – poor you! Did you wish you were in Hollies place? Comfy and snuggy by the aga?? She got very muddy in the woods yesterday and then lay down in a puddle so had to have a shower. So she is all clean and fluffy, unlike you girls!
Hope you can move on from your hell hole. Lucy, Annie and I are off to Carcassonne tomorrow, apparently it is 38 degrees there (big change from rainy England). Love you xxxxx
Ahhh I hope you have a good time there and seeing duran duran? Yes hollies bed would have been better but last night we staying in somewhere much nicer xxxx
Hi Girlies,
Just spoken to Nanny Jean and she mentioned that in order for there be heavenly places there have to be hellish ones too. Glad that things are looking up now though and heard today from Jackie & Don that Luang Prabang is probably the most beautiful place they’ve ever visited – looking forward to the photos. Sleep tight and lots of love, Ma & Pa xx
Hi Girls hope you have now found heaven or even halfway keep safe love Nan xx
